After Care
After the party, there's the after party! Never skip the after party — that's your chance for clean-up, cuddles, and communication — and it's an important part of any intimate experience.
Then there’s also product after care, after you purchase from my site!
🧼 Product Hygiene & Cleaning
Keeping your products clean protects your health and extends the life of your toys. Here's how to do it right:
- Non-motorized silicone, glass, and stainless steel toys can be boiled for 3–5 minutes, or cleaned with toy-safe toy cleaner and rinsed with warm water to sanitize.
- Motorized and electronic toys should never be submerged unless labeled waterproof (shower- or bath-friendly is not the same). Use a toy cleaner (spray, foam, etc.), then air dry.
- Porous materials (like rubber, jelly, or TPE) cannot be fully sanitized — always use a condom with these and replace them regularly.
- Lingerie & accessories should be hand-washed in cool water with a gentle detergent and laid flat to dry.
- Always clean toys before and after each use, and before switching between partners or body parts.
📦 Storage Tips
How you store your products matters just as much as how you clean them. Proper storage keeps materials from degrading and keeps things discreet.
- Store toys separately — silicone toys stored touching each other can degrade over time. Use individual toy totes or pouches designed for toys to avoid lint, bacteria, fungus, etc.
- Keep toys in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Many toys come with a storage bag — use it! If yours didn't, look for one with an antimicrobial, anti-fungal lining.
- Remove batteries from battery-operated toys when storing to prevent corrosion and extend battery life.
- Store lubricants and creams upright with caps tightly closed, away from heat sources.
🛁 Body Care Afterward
Taking care of your body after intimacy is self-care — and it's worth the extra few minutes.
- Wash up with warm water and a gentle, pH-balanced cleanser. Avoid harsh soaps that can disrupt your natural balance.
- If you used lubricants or massage oils, rinse thoroughly to avoid irritation, especially in sensitive areas.
- Hydrate! Drink a glass of water — your body will thank you.
- If you experience any unusual irritation, redness, or discomfort, discontinue use of the product and consult a healthcare provider.
- Consider a gentle body lotion or soothing balm for any areas that need a little extra love. (See the After Care section of my Sexual Wellness collection for specialty products that might be helpful.
💬 Communication Tips
Aftercare isn't just physical — it's emotional too. A little check-in goes a long way toward building trust and deepening connection.
- Check in with your partner (or yourself!) — ask how they're feeling, what felt good, and what they might want to explore differently next time.
- Aftercare looks different for everyone. Some people want cuddles and closeness; others need a few quiet minutes alone. Both are completely valid — just communicate.
- If you tried something new, take a moment to debrief. What worked? What didn't? No judgment, just honest conversation.
- Affirm and appreciate. A simple "that was amazing" or "I love being with you" can make a big difference. If you can be specific about things you liked during the experience, that will help your partner know what to repeat in the future: for example, “I REALLY enjoyed it when you _______” or “It felt SO good when you _______.”
- Solo aftercare counts too — journaling, a warm bath, or just sitting with how you feel are all great ways to close the loop.
