My Life

Emily  Chaia  Morganstein  My Life
I have friendships that have lasted throughout my lifetime and I'm a loyal fan of those that I love. I'm liberal and appreciate diversity. I don't like mind games, hatred, and close-mindedness. I'm trustworthy, compassionate, empathetic, and most of my friends joke about how they always seem to go to me with their problems because I'm a good listener and counselor by nature. I'm nurturing and enjoy taking care of others. I'm learning how to take better care of myself. Sometimes I'm self-conscious but sometimes I'm bold and assertive, and I always go after what I truly want. I'm passionate about a lot of ideas, and stand strong for what I believe in. I am a defender of the defenseless, protector of children, lover of animals; sometimes I feel too righteous. I strive to be open-minded. I'm reflective and thoughtful, I analyze and think a lot; I'm philosophical to my very core. I am spiritual but not religious. And I am in a very loving relationship. I love my inner child, and I'm in touch with a Higher Power of my understanding.

I have serenity today because I found a way out: I've been clean and sober since March 1, 2006. Many people said I changed after I got clean, but I think I just found myself.

I believe in myself and a power greater than me, happiness, vegetarianism, zero population growth, butterflies, the simple things, serenity, living spiritual principles, giving others the knowledge they need to enable their growth, freeganism, empathy, unconditional love, prayer, meditation, asking questions, compassion for all creatures, spirituality, the character of others, change, growth, socialism, the right to free health care and education, mind over matter, the benefits of diversity, balance, homeostasis, time travel, world travel, forgiveness, happy news stories in the media, family values, a woman's right to choose, the mind-body connection, nurturing and supporting others, service to others, democracy, second chances, agapé, smiles, laughter, the right to religious freedom, community fellowship, accountability, friendships that last a lifetime, proactivity over reactivity, reading, writing, hope, a free and unbiased press, math and music as universal languages, faith in something bigger than me, humankind's interdependence on one another, telepathy, a reason for everything, agnosticism, gratitude, the evolutionary theory, the program of Narcotics Anonymous, and so much more.

Words are power to me.  Here are a few thoughts that influence who I am...

"(To me) You make my soul happy." —My love, Micah

"Life is a journey, not a destination." —Unknown

‎"I knew who I was when I got up this morning, but I've changed several times since then."
—Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

"Happiness is available. Please help yourself to it."
—My friend, Rod

"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."
—Eleanor Roosevelt

"Smile, because you're worth it." —My friend, Alex

"I shall pass this way but once. Therefore, any good that I can do or any kindness that I can show, let me do it now, for I shall not pass this way again." —Stephan Grellet

In this world,
hate never yet dispelled hate.
Only love dispels hate.
This is the law,
ancient and inexhaustible.
